When Martin Eyerer tells a story, everybody listens. Martin reports of his journeys throughout the continents, telling stories of wild escapades in a taxi across the Brazilian jungle through to the impressions of Earth’s capitals and the colourful array of citizens that inhabit them, and obviously of his many Gigs in these foreign lands. Those foreign places quickly become familiar territory when he sets up his digital DJ-system and starts to play that thumping first track because what he plays is groovy Electro-Tech House and the sound is a world language of its own that is euphorically absorbed through sweaty pores and pumping glands.

His passion is eminently clear when he starts to talk about his experiences and such is his passion and enthusiasm for the music that one could easily think it was all totally new to him. But it isn't. Martin Eyerer has been a DJ for 20 years – and just as many years a producer, label owner, radio show producer. Throw in his two young children and it seems that the energy never leaves his side.

Martin Eyerer is not a laptop artist, but a true musician. His high-end studio meets the highest requirements and has become an interdisciplinary interface for mastering (whether it is Hip Hop, Pop or Electronic) and he is also co-producing several mainstream acts (Eyerer e.g.became a gold record in UK). On top of all this, the Tech-House Posse around him like Gui Boratto,Oliver Koletzki, Toni Rios, Stephan Hinz, Namito, Chopstick, Oliver Klein or Florian Meindl come to ‘his house’ to jam. It is a small circle of friends who share the same musical interest and who put 200% in to every release they do.

Whether collaborations, solo Works, Remixes or Compilations, all his works appear almost monthly on dance-floor dominating labels, like Kling KLong,MBF (My Best Friend), Trapez,
Great Stuff, Kickboxer and Criminal and on English big names like Renaissance. The most unbelievable aspect of this is the variety of styles Martin stands for. There is no segment from Deep house to Electro that Eyerer is not in control of, always keeping his focus on the dance-floor. This consistently high-quality of output results in rocking world-wide floor-fillers, spun by the most well-known DJs. Beyond that, hits like Make My Day (Haunting) by Eyerer and Chopstick feat. Zdar/Cassius made their way into the A-rotation of English music television.

As an important platform for his music Martin Eyerer has founded his own label - Kling Klong. Due to the conscientious release policy (releasing artists like Koletzki, Namito, Andrea Doria, Mijk van Dijk, Diringer, Mini Br Arnaud Robotini of Black strobe and Eyerer) the Label boss of Kling Klong was able to establish an independent sound between electro, minimal and tech-house. DJ-colleagues define the records as ‘absolute peak time material’.

Peak time is the best time in a DJ-set, but in Martin Eyerers opinion, you have to work for it as a DJ - there is no way to force it. With that philosophy he builds up his sets, using the newest material and unfolds an oppressive, sizable Groove. Martin Eyerer does not try to get through the night with the current hits. Instead, he travels the whole sound-spectrum in one intuitively construed DJ-set. These legendary sets make their way around the globe resulting in Martin playing regularly in England, France, Georgia, Israel, Spain, Italy, Greece, Brazil, India and Australia.

But Martin wants to reach more people than only those who frequent nightclubs. That's why he regularly works on mix compilations, e.g. the double CD Movement (MBF, together with Oliver Klein). He has also set up Session De Luxe – a national weekly radio-show that goes out live every Sunday evening on Sunshine live - Germany’s biggest station for dance music, and it’s on this platform that Eyerer presents all the latest releases for his hungry following to devour as they polish of their weekend’s activities on sofas, in bedrooms or in the car on their way home after visiting their parents for Sunday lunch in the country. By himself or with guests like e.g. Bodzin, Anthony Rother, Chardronnet, Huntemann, Gregor Tresher, Abe Duque, Thomas Schumacher, John Selway or Shlomi Aber, Session de Luxe never disappoints. But not only are the monologues important - Martin also involves the listeners, giving everyone the chance to ask questions about anything concerning dance music.

Autumn 2007: Martin Eyerer works on his Debut album, which is scheduled to be released January 2008. Some tracks are already finished, others are in progress. Martin’s first Longplayer will be a pure Club album, serving the expectations of the DJs and dancers who have developed a love of Martin’s music over recent years. No excursions into avant-garde sounds, no 10 minimal loops – just outstanding tracks throughout and each worthy of becoming the a-side of a 12" single in their own right. As everyone can imagine, the variety is not going to be a problem with Martin Eyerer bobbing at the knobs...

Since summer 2006 Tom, Max, Zhiqi and Flo who together call themselves "BaiCai" promote Techno & House events in Beijing.

BaiCai's musical concept differs strongly from any other promoter in the city: an ever rotating range of local and international DJs delivers its individual and distinct interpretation of state-of-the-art underground Techno & House Music to the BaiCai crowd.

For their latest event the BaiCai guys team up with Beijing's new prime nightlife location "The Bank" to bring the exceptional talents of Loco Dice to the city.

Loco Dice defines his musical style as "deep, groovy, chunky & driving" House Music. 2006 saw him and his producer Martin Buttrich (who used to work with Timo Maas) explode in popularity - most notably due to the release of their track "Seeing through Shadows" on Richie Hawtin's label " Minus". The label has been voted best "Techno Label 2006" and especially Loco Dice's release was acclaimed to be one of the most influential records of last year for the Techno & House Music genre.

That also captured the interest of Germany's Techno Ueberfather Sven Vaeth who signed Loco Dice as an artist and DJ to his label " Cocoon Recordings ".

Since 1999, Loco Dice has DJ'ed at every major Techno Music festival around the world, like Sonar, Creamfields and even the Montreux Jazz Festival. His intelligent and crowd moving sound has earned him residencies from New York's "Crobar" to the hottest club in Ibiza, "DC-10", Ibiza's hottest club.

Loco Dice will be playing in Beijing on Saturday, 14.07.2007. "The Bank" is set to be the perfect venue to host this event. 1. Where are you from, and how long have you been DJing?

I am from Sweden. The most boring place on earth. However, very beautiful. It's a hate love feeling.

I have been DJing with Traktor(a computer program for mixing) for 3 years, but its only until a half a year ago I got two turntables and started to DJ with vinyl. I have a pretty big vinyl collection so it's nice to finally play some of the old tracks on the dance floor that I have been collecting.

2. What got you into electronic music and possibly other musical genres as well?

I started listening to electronic music many years ago. I have always loved Tortoise. It's a post rock band and they didn't start making electronic music until later, but they always had a very interesting approach to music that involved electronic sounds. I was an indie kid when I was younger and loved bands like the Cure, Smiths, Ride, Slowdive etc. I have played in bands since I was a young kid and I still sometimes play air guitar in front of the mirror. When I was 17 I started going to outdoor raves. Then I didn't really know what kind of music I was listening to. I just liked to hear the hard kicks and basslines. I guess from there I was sold on dance music. I kind of quickly moved away from the rave scene because I didn't really like the people and the atmosphere. I started going to acid and techno parties instead and that was more my kind of scene. It was small dirty clubs that were more intimate and played music that I instantly fell in love with.

3. You also produce your own music as well, don't you? Tell us a bit about what kind of music you've been making, and where you pull your inspirations from.

Well, I have not had much time to make music lately because I am really into DJing at the moment. When I have time I make music with Will Yorke, you might have seen a tall skinny pale English guy stressed out at a place called, The Vineyard. Will is a very eclectic and talented musician and fun to work with. We don't make finished songs right now; instead we make a lot of loops that we put together for the live sets. We call ourselves, The Mug Up Phonies.

Inspiration comes from a lot of things... I just saw a movie called Stealth of Fury with Steven Seagal. That movie really inspired me to do something good.

4. Anyone who has been going out clubbing recently definitely has heard of BaiCai, which you are heavily involved with. How do you want people to understand who you guys are, and what you're trying to do?

BaiCai is a collective thing that wants to play good music with as little compromise as possible. We want to give new DJs a chance to play and we change DJs a lot so that every party is different. We also bring interesting DJ's from outside China. Next one is Loco Dice from Cocoon and M_nus. He is actually one of my favorite producers and DJ's. He will be playing on the 14th July at the Bank. Trust me when I say this will be amazing.

5. Where do you see the underground dance scene going here in Beijing in the near future, and possibly throughout the rest of China?

Well, we can start by calling it commercial underground. If you have a chart for something it stopped being underground a long time ago. The problem here is that most of the club owners in Beijing don't want to be (commercial) underground and I can understand that. However, a city needs places where the music can run free and you can play whatever you want without having an idiot club manager that doesn't understand music to keep telling you what to play. The people need to be educated about what electronic music is and then hopefully more and more people will start to produce and DJ. Right now, Hip Hop is doing well in China because they have an identity. Techno and house doesn't really have that yet. For ex, what does a person look like that is into Techno in China? When this will change the dance scene will change. When, I don't know. Soon I hope since I am getting old and tired of waiting. On the other hand, If you don't like something…Change it! And that is what we are trying to do with BaiCai.

6. We're excited to have you play for what will be your and Patrick's birthday party. What can we expect to hear you bring out for this Sundays On Top?

You can expect some hardcore Rotterdam leather gabber. HAHAHAHA, no some deep house in the beginning and slowly move into some heavier techno sounds. And “NO, I DON'T HAVE ANY HIP HOP!!! b**ch”

BaiCai proudly presents Sam Rouanet aka Reynold from France who will play at Inner Affair with local heroes Yang Bing and Jackson Lee on the 1st of June.
Reynold has been releasing several records on labels like Dumb-Unit, Morris/Audio, Out of Orbit, S'hort records, Baystreet and also his own label called Trenton
records. Reynold is also a member of Duplex 100 along with Phil Stumpf.
This is a special treat to have this tech house master playing in Beijing. Expect
